Thankgiving decor idea – Flower Pumpkin Centerpiece

Here’s one more last-minute idea for your Thanksgiving decoration project. A pumpkin covered in flowers, a stylish way to create a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table or holiday buffet. This project was featured on Southern Living but I have been using this idea for years and it always looks original and instantly becomes a conversation piece.

You need:

  • A pumkin
  • An ice pick or awl, – a sharp tool to poke holes in the pumpkin
  • a bunch of fall flowers such as Asters or Mums
  • A can of gold or silver spray paint (optional)
  • wooden toothpicks

1.Spray paint your pumpkin, it will make your final product look more festive, you can skip this step if you prefer your pumkin look natural.
2.Cut the heads of the flowers and discard the stems
3.Using an ice pick ( or an awl) poke a hole in the body of the pumpkin and use the toothpick to attach the head of the flower to the pumpkin. Repeat this step until the whole body of the pumpkin, except the stem, is covered in flowers.

Voila, you got your first flowered pumpkin!
