DIY self stick tile laying & Bathroom renovation home improvement

DIY self stick tile laying & Bathroom renovation home improvement. I bought all the parts at Lowes near me in Kissimmee Florida. These self stick DIY tiles have a 25 year warranty and really look great! I replaced our old toilet with a new water saver one, I priced out redoing the one I had vs replacing it and the new one was only more so it was a no brainier. I hope you find this video inspiring and you upgrade your bathroom and have fun doing it.. This whole project cost under 0 and made a nice difference. I hope you enjoy your weekend, All the best, -Pete Mixcatcom Home improvement & tile DIY

  1. Big mistake using self-adhesive tiles. Convenient, yes, but short-term junk. In a year or two water and dirt will migrate into seams at points of heavier traffic/use around toilet and neutralize the low quality adhesive causing tile to curl up and lift at corners and distort/crack/catch. Oh, and previous sheet flooring installer actually did you a big favor by only gluing edges.

  2. I bet it was hard getting the tile cut to fit correctly around the cammode drain and the rest of it looks like it was much easier to put down. The floor looks great after you completed the job.

  3. Vinyl Flooring is available in both full-spread and perimeter-bond types; full-spread has a felt-paper backing. It is secured using an adhesive that bonds it tightly to the floor. Perimeter-bond has a smooth, white PVC backing; it is laid directly over underlayment and secured in place using a special adhesive around the perimeters.

  4. @PathofTorah4life Thanks, I have this flooring in the font area of the house and it really looks good and is holding up well. It has a 25 year lifespan and warranty. I will be happy with half that.
    All the best,

  6. Great job man, you do great work on DIY projects. I’m thinking about doing something similar so this was a good refresher.

  7. I install flooring for a living and you did well . But when they curl put in one piece of vinyl . No seams is the best way to go. Remove and replace baseboard and seal tub when done.

  8. oh you painted them white, did not noticed my stick down tile came out good, so i did my 2 bedrooms ,closets and kitchen with different colors.

  9. hiding in the shower Lol yeah someone kinda phoned it in putting the glue only on the outter edges like that what kinda shady work is that? i’d be checking into your other stuff too. the glue on those tiles does not hold very well either, you should have gotten some concrete sealer to put on the floor first to give the tile something better to stick to. yeah doesn’t look bad at all and good job aroung the door too, there’s actually a really easy trick to getting that right.

  10. Stick Tile in a bathroom is a bad idea. That’s why ceramic tile with grout is used due to the moisture factor of a bathroom with a shower .

  11. I like how your dog was such a big help. I guess he was giving you moral support. Maybe he is the inspector, Nice job!
